A sexy orgy of death. Hot.

by on March 7, 2013

So over the last several weeks we’ve been bothering a particular group of players in an on-again-off-again fashion. When we first met them they were in a corp called The Zombies or something like that. We got them first with some spying and a wardec, then fang safarii’d them to the tune of an Orca and a Proteus, and then about a week later I safarii’d them for another Orca. From there they ditched the CEO and formed their own corp, Negative Space, and put up a POS near Amarr. At this point in the story we’ve had them decced for nearly a week and were routinely warping in on the crew trying to repair the POS guns that we’d incapped.

We’d been playing some games on the POS all day, having caught nothing interesting. Eventually, we all went to bed except for rareden, who’s in NZ so has the weirdest schedual. At this point we were severally disappointed in Negative Space, but when Rareden warped in to their POS, he was suprised to be held down by Negative Space and to have some other local war targets of ours, Veyr Collective, show up and help slowly burn down his brick proteus.

I wasn’t there, but I’d imagine Negative Space was ecstatic and I’m super proud of them for finding some spine. I hope they don’t lose it again and that it serves them well.

The next day, however, Rareden wanted to blow off some steam. What Rareden often does to unwind is grab a Tornado and snipe some shit. So he went to the Amarr undock and started shooting some Veyr Collective that have been living there lately. We all decided to join him and just lose the fuck out of some boats. We were rocking a wide variety of ships, and over the course of several hours we made appearances in Tornados, Ashimuu, Ferox, Legion, Navy Domi and some other miscellaneous bullshit I’m sure I’ve forgotten about.

Usually we don’t fight on trade hub undocks. We don’t typically bring logi along and there’s a lot of people that tend to be able to shoot us at any given time and a hub is a pretty likely place for them to be logged out. This, however, was different. Veyr obliged us by also undocking a wide and interesting variety of ships, including a Legion of their own, various battlecruisers and whatever else they had hanging around.

We started by having Floppie, Lith and Paul Clavet grab hold of whatever undocked. Floppie was rocking a Legion, Lith a dual-ancil Ferox, and Paul a Rapier. Rarden, Zubrette and I were zooming around in Tornados murdering whatever we could get a clean shot on. They started warping off station and we obliged them by joining. Very few hub fights actually go off station in my opinion, as out there you’re playing for keeps, rather than hoping you can tank long enough to deagress, so this was out of the ordinary.

They had a couple frigs going after the Tornados, which Paul was doing his best to nail with some webs. Unfortunately, Paul was run down by a Harb and his friend and turned into scrap metal. But we started picking off stuff including a Taranis, a Caracal (and his pod), the Harb that killed Paul and a Maulus, all over the course of about twenty minutes.

During that time the Tornados were trying to do their jobs while outrunning a Punisher and a fairly talented Executioner pilot (who we felt was the best pilot out of the bunch) twice. The executioner cleared the field for a bit and I was just lining up a shot on a Brutix when he buzzed out from behind my head and nailed me right to the floor. I flailed a bit like a fish out of water and burst into flame at the shame of being killed.

Lith got mashed upon by a Brutix, an Oracle, a Legion and that Punisher, eventually losing his single-ancil Ferox. (Lith, single ancil Ferox isn’t that good, dude.)

We got sweet revenge by killing an enemy Brutix with the sheer power of 1400mm Howitzers and, shortly after, an enemy Ferox that had neither point not prop mod, as well as shield power relays. Don’t bring a PvE boat to PvP, gentlemen.

We rarely get people that engage us in such a prolonged fashion, reshipping and going all over the grid like that. It was a refreshing change of pace and a great way to chase down the taste of a dissapointing boat loss. We actually lost more isk than we killed that night but we had a kickass time doing it, and boats are for exploding anyways.

Cheers for the goodfights and sink or swim experience. Shame about raredan’s loss, if it is any consolation we thought it was a trap the entire time.

I got my oops medal as well, now we begin the indy game to try and replace my orca :(.

    Best of luck in future,
A much more paranoid pilot, neodium.

I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s a shame that you dropped your Orca dude out of corp, although it was the correct decision given the ruleset we work under. I’m sure we’ll meet again.
